Careful planning is crucial for a successful heavy transport. For our transport of a Tupolev Tu-154 from Prague-Kbely to the Aviation Museum in Kunovice, we have planned a whole year for the 400 km distance transport.
Universal Transport pays attention to every detail. The heavy transport was tailored to the schedules of the airport. For a smooth operation without disturbing the normal air traffic. For the last part of the journey, the aircraft had its wings taken off. The wings, tail unit and turbines were transported by Universal Transport to the destination separately.
Heavy-duty logistics for aircraft at the highest level
The aircraft's 25-ton fuselage was lifted onto a 40-meter low-loader. The aircraft transport with a diameter of about four meters impressed by excess length. Road signs and overhead lines for trams had to be observed. Overall, the aircraft transport took a day and two nights on the roads.
This was a special aircraft with a prominent passenger list: The Tupolev Tu-154 was a former state aircraft.
